Who is responsible for your data
[TRADING NAME], [ADDRESS], is the controller of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL].
What we collect and why
- Business owners: your name, email, phone number and business details, so we can provide your plot and listing (performing our contract with you), and keep records for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number; we keep a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you ask to sign up (your consent). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- "100 Plots in your town" requests: your email and town, to tell you when we launch near you (your consent).
- Server logs: basic technical information such as IP address, kept briefly to keep the site secure (legitimate interests).
Information you put in your public listing (business name, photos, contact details, address unless hidden) is published on the site for anyone to see.
Where your data is stored
Our website and database run on our own server located in [THE UK / THE EU: CONFIRM LOCATION].
Who we share it with
We use these processors, who act on our instructions:
- Stripe (payments and subscriptions). Stripe may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
- Our own mail server ([MAIL PROVIDER / HOST]) to send emails such as login links, receipts and reminders.
We use OpenStreetMap services to show maps and look up street names; we send them map positions, not your personal details. We don't sell your data.
How long we keep it
Account and listing data while your subscription is active and for [6] years afterwards for accounting records. Newsletter data until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies: one to keep you logged in and one to protect forms from misuse. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so we don't ask for cookie consent.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
